People are becoming more and more skeptical online, so simply creating a website or social media profile and posting about your product or service just doesn’t cut it when you’re trying to build your business.
And days of cheap and simple advertising are long gone…
Unless of course, you have a well established online presence and stop spamming your products all over the internet. (More on this later)
So, do you know what it takes to create that online presence?
Ok, let’s take a look at an example for a minute…
When you first joined your network marketing company, chances are you’ve probably heard the saying that people only buy from you if they know, like, and trust you.
And let’s just say if you were to build your MLM business in the traditional sense (meaning face-to-face, one-on-one recruiting, etc.), you would probably take some time to…
I think you know where I’m going with this…
And you know why this is so important but you’re probably reading this wondering, “If i want to use online strategies, how do I do this online?”
Everyone understands the importance of building this “authority factor” of know, like, and trust, but how do you actually do this online?
And the beauty of doing this online, you can now take yourself having to reach out to complete strangers out of the equation.
Pretty neat, right?
In a recent Facebook Live, I broke down these factors in more detail, so be sure to check this out.
So let’s break it down…
The first factor is “Know”…do people actually know who you are and where to find you?
Simply put…can people find you online?
Do you have a website or social media channels for people to find?
And if you missed this, I recently wrote a blog all about why all network marketers need a blog to make more sales.
And regardless of which social media platform you use or what your blog is all about, the important key here is does your audience know who you are when they land on your social media profile or blog?
When someone lands on your website or social media profile, they should be able to know who you are and what you can help them with.
Here are a couple of examples…
In example #1, you can see how the first thing that someone sees when landing on my Facebook Page, is who it is that I help (network marketers) and what it is that I help them with (“escape the 9-to-5…”).
Similarly in example #2, you will see the same congruent image if someone were to land on my blog.
So regardless of who you serve and what it is that you help them with, make sure it is clear to your potential prospect.
Next up is…
Dude, do you even like me?
Let’s be clear on one thing…your goal is not to get everyone to like you.
If fact, you shouldn’t want everyone to like you.
This is the beauty of building your business online.
You get to choose who you want to work with, and if people don’t like you then that probably means that they aren’t a good fit to work with you anyway.
Which brings me to the last factor…
The last factor is trust.
And if you’re new to the online world, this may seem a little nebulous.
But it’s actually easier than you think.
In order to build trust with your online audience, you must first show up.
Showing up consistently for your audience tells them that they can rely on you to provide the solutions to their problems.
Said differently, are you following through on your commitments?
And this can take on many different forms:
Depending on which social media platform you use, you’ll want to be sure to post relevant and consistent data.
For example, if you’re using Facebook or Instagram, posting 2-4 times a day is best.
If you’re using Twitter, posting upwards of 10-15 times a day is best.
Be sure to check out this blog post, where I breakdown what to post…

I wanted to breakout Live videos separately from social media posting, because of the importance and attention that videos are getting these days on social media.
In several blogs and social media news outlets, videos will continue to grow in popularity (particularly live video).
So if you’re not already doing videos, I highly recommend you do so for 2 main reasons…
Are you consistently sharing original content with your audience?
In order for you to establish trust with your audience, your audience has to know that they can rely on you provide the solution to their problem.
If you are showing up consistently and delivering original content (meaning content that you wrote or created), your audience will begin to trust you and depend on you.
Lastly, is the content that you’re sharing with your audience relevant?
Is it the content that your audience actually wants to know and learn?
Will it help them solve their problem?
And if you’re unclear who your ideal audience or customer is, then check out this blog post, where I share how to define your ideal customer.
